About This Test
This course is for anyone who prepares for the U.S. Coast Guard Lifeboat Operator endorsement, or for the lifeboat part of the Able Seafarer exam. It follows the exam subjects in 46 CFR 12.407: lifeboats and liferafts and their equipment, clearing away, swinging out and lowering, and davits. It also drills the stowage, drill and maintenance rules for survival craft.
The mock test is the real format: 50 questions, 35 to pass (70 percent), 3.5 hours. That is the National Maritime Center's Lifeboat Operator exam (Q445). The endorsement also needs a practical demonstration in the boat, which a written test cannot replace.
You take the real exam at a Coast Guard Regional Exam Center or through an approved course.
This course drills 179 questions.
