This course is for anyone who prepares for the U.S. Coast Guard Lifeboat Operator endorsement, or for the lifeboat part of the Able Seafarer exam. It follows the exam subjects in 46 CFR 12.407: lifeboats and liferafts and their equipment, clearing away, swinging out and lowering, and davits. It also drills the stowage, drill and maintenance rules of 46 CFR 199.
The mock test is the real format: 50 questions, 35 to pass (70 percent), 3.5 hours. That is the Lifeboat Operator exam (Q445) in the National Maritime Center's exam guide MCP-MA-NMC2-08(01); 46 CFR 12 itself states no numbers. The endorsement also needs a practical demonstration in the boat, which a written test cannot replace.
