This course is for anyone taking the Indiana knowledge test for a first driver licence — most often a teenager applying for a learner's permit, but equally an adult who has never been licensed and a driver moving to Indiana from another state or another country. The test is the written part of getting licensed. It is not the road test, and passing it does not by itself let you drive alone.
Indiana sets its own minimum age, its own list of documents and its own fees, and changes them from time to time. Check those against Indiana BMV before you go, because this course cannot promise they have not moved since the manual was published.
The knowledge test is given by Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, not by this site and not by a driving school. In most cases you take it at a licensing office: bring your documents, take a vision screening, and sit the test the same visit. Offices are listed at Indiana BMV office locations, and many require an appointment, so look before you drive there.
Some states also allow the knowledge test online, at a high school, or through an approved driver-education course, sometimes only for applicants under a certain age. Whether Indiana does is on the Indiana BMV licensing pages.
The questions here are written from the Indiana driver manual, which is the book the real test is drawn from. If anything on this site disagrees with that manual, the manual is right and we want to know.

Is there an official test, and how is the mock test scored?
Indiana does not publish the shape of its knowledge test, so this format is ours: 10 signs and signals + 30 rules of the road, 8 to pass signs and signals and 24 to pass rules of the road. Indiana publishes only the mark: a signs part and a traffic-rules part, each needing 80 percent. It does not publish how many questions either part asks. 40 questions in 2 parts — Signs and signals: 10 questions, 8 to pass; Rules of the road: 30 questions, 24 to pass.
